Remember that album I keep promising you?
Exciting news—the next phase of the album has arrived! Namely, crowdfunding to help get it finished. That’s right, I’ve taken part in the time-honored tradition of indie artists everywhere and I’ve launched a Kickstarter to help get the album done.
The Lure of Perfection is Powerful
Those who have known me for many years have asked me the same question again and again — “When will you release an album already?”
Merry Yuletide, friends🎄
This week, in the spirit of the solstice, I wanted to share an interesting read with you.
Favorite First-Time Listens of 2024
Somehow, it's December, which means we've made it to the end of 2024. Since this is the traditional time for retrospectives, end-of-year summaries, and Spotify Wraps, I wanted to share five of my favorite albums I listened to for the first time this year:
“Be strong, like the witch hazel flower.”
Around 2015, I was attending a session of Exceedingly Good Song Night in NYC when a singer named Chris Carpenter was asked to lead a song. "This was written by my friend, Tom Gala of Philadelphia," he said and then he shared a song with us called Witch Hazel.
“Action is the antidote to despair.”
After the election in 2016, one of the first things I did was organize a benefit concert at the old Sidewalk Cafe in NYC to raise funds for organizations that could help people. It felt, well maybe not good per se, but useful for me to get out and do something to help others rather than sink into despair.
